When you’re getting ready for your next vacation, don’t forget to bring your Jiobit along for the ride! Having a real-time GPS tracker for your loved one is just as useful for traveling as it is during your everyday routine. Read on to learn best practices while you travel with your Jiobit.
“Can I bring Jiobit on an airplane?”
Yes, you can absolutely bring your Jiobit along for the flight! Jiobit has the same internal components as a cellphone and is TSA-approved. As with any electronic device, the Jiobit should be carefully removed from your loved one and placed into your bin for TSA screening. Once you have gone through security, place the device back on your loved one as airports are pretty crowded places.
Tip: Bluetooth Alert is a great feature to enable when you’re in crowded areas such as airports. You can think of this feature as a proximity alert or a “virtual leash” for pets. You will be notified with an alert you can't miss in the event your loved one wanders off.
Once you’re on the plane and ready to take off, enable “airplane mode” on your smartphone. Be sure to check that your phone’s Bluetooth is still enabled though. That way, Jiobit can still conserve battery throughout the flight.
Please note that Jiobit will not update its location while in flight.
“What if I’m traveling internationally?”
Jiobit Next, our 2021 model, is not compatible internationally. The device will not track outside of the U.S due to network limitations, so feel free to leave your device at home.
“Should I add new trusted places throughout my trip?”
Yes! Add trusted places to make sure your device continues to conserve battery while it learns new signals in the area. We recommend adding any place your family will be at for long stretches of time during your trip such as the hotel, Airbnb, family member's house, or wherever you plan on going. You can add or remove trusted places at any time.
“Do I need to pack my charging dock”
Definitely bring it. Just as you would bring along a charger for your phone, laptop, or tablet, don’t forget to pack the Jiobit charging dock!
